No Need For A Keyboard – Just Use Your Brain! Stephen Fung March 13, 2007 Extras Thanks to Austria’s Guger Technologies (g.tec), the future computer user will not have to rely on a keyboard and a mouse to use a computer. The new Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) pushes even further the limits of computing — much further than simple voice or movement recognition had done before. This biosignal recording system uses an electroencephalogram (EEG) with data processing linked to the computer to compose messages or control computer games. Beyond simple gaming, this also offers new hope of effective communication and freedom of movement for people who are severely physically impaired, giving them a new voice and the possibility to control directly their electric wheelchair.
