I don’t know who this is marketed towards, nor do I think we actually need it, but I want one all the same. Canon’s Camera Snap is a 12-megapixel camera that fits around your finger. It’s like a Ring Pop, except instead of a lollipop it’s a camera.

It’s made from a flexible gel, so it’ll no doubt feel comfortable on your finger. It also has a tiny little touchscreen display, a memory card slot, and a shutter button, all packed onto that tiny device. Again, in the era of the smartphone I’m not entirely sure who’s supposed to buy this outside of suckers like me who get way too sucked in by the novelty of things.

I’m running over the possibilites in my head, and I suppose this could benefit journalists or even soldiers who need or want to take pictures in situations that don’t allow you to pull out a smartphone and open up the camera app. I don’t know, perhaps I’m stretching. It’s a ring camera, people. I don’t understand the future. Happy Monday.
