The Sonos Play:1 has been a mainstay in my house for a few years now and I love it as much today as it did when I first got it. Sure, there are some more affordable alternatives out there, like linking a Chromecast Audio to your speaker of choice, but the sound quality and convenience of Sonos is pretty stellar. And as it turns out, it’s about as cheap as it has ever been too.

A little over a month ago, the “entry level” Sonos Play:1 was discounted by $50 for Black Friday and it was able to hang on to that discount for most (all?) of the holiday shopping season. If you missed out on that deal, it turns out that the discount is even better now.

If you hop on over to Amazon, you’ll see that the Sonos Play:1 has now been discounted by a little over $60, making this the lowest price we’ve ever seen on the wireless speaker. The product page is showing that it is still in stock in both black and white, but we have no idea how long that stock is going to last at this price.

Unsurprisingly, Amazon (and Sonos) is actively trying to clear out inventory of the Sonos Play:1, because they’d rather you pick up its successor. The Sonos One is fundamentally similar in size and form factor, but it gains touch controls, a microphone array and voice assistant support. You can use Alexa with it (in the US) and Google Assistant should be added later on this year too.

If you absolutely must have the newer version, the Sonos One is currently listed at $199. If you’re willing to do without Alexa, the Sonos Play:1 at just $139.80 is one killer deal. Still want Alexa? Just add an Echo Dot to the mix.
