Samsung Galaxy S4 Unsurprisingly Costs More to Make than Galaxy S III Dylan Duarte March 19, 2013 According to supply company IHS iSuppli, the estimated total bill of materials for Samsung’s new Galaxy S4 is $236 for the 16GB HSPA+ model and $233 for the LTE-enabled model. The Galaxy S III had a total bill of $204, making the S4 just a tad more expensive, which shouldn’t come as a surprise. The total bill might be a little different when the phone is finally released, but the phone is expected the cost more than its predecessor thanks to the larger HD display at 5-inches with 441PPI. That alone accounts for $75 of the phone’s total cost. There’s also the $30 for the Exynos 5 Octa processor and $20 for the 1.9-GHz quad-core Qualcomm, as well as the new camera and a variety of sensors packed into each phone, all of which helped raise the production costs above that of the Galaxy S III. The S4 is due to hit in Q2 of this year. via MobileSyrup Share This With The World!
