Samsung Combines Form With Function for a Kitchen Win Beth Snyder January 14, 2013 When is a refrigerator not just a refrigerator? When it’s the latest offering from Samsung and has more cool features crammed into it than you can fit Thanksgiving leftovers! Sure, it’s going to cost you a bundle, but boy is this neat! Other than being your standard refrigerator/freezer, the T9000 from Samsung is split into four different sections. In regular mode, the left side freezes while the right side merely chills. But you can opt to also have the lower compartment on the right side freeze if you need the extra space. Neat, huh? But it certainly doesn’t stop there. Total interior space is 25.5 cubic feet, split up into sections so you can control how many times they get opened. Figure if you put stuff you need all the time, like milk, sodas, condiments, etc. in one of the smaller compartments, then you don’t have to keep opening the larger ones unless you really need to get at the turkey you’ve got thawing. This could also solve a lot of potential roommate problems, because if it’s not in your section, you can’t eat it. You also get designated fresh food zones that are commercial-grade humidity-controlled via two compressors and three evaporators. Now the really neat part: Just above the exterior water/ice dispenser is an LCD screen. It’s not just a screen. You get apps such as Evernote, which allows you to share notes, pictures, etc. with other folks in your house. It also gives you a calendar that’s pretty much guaranteed not to be misplaced. You can even check out the weather! And then there’s the bad part. All this wonderful technology does not come cheaply. If you want one, you’re going to have to shell out $3999.00 US. No word on exactly when this is going to be available, but it’s supposed to be some time in the first half of this year, so you’re looking at six months on the outside. I almost wish I needed a new refrigerator…I love this thing! Source: Coolest Gadgets Share This With The World!
