Official Nintendo Wii U Unboxing Video with President Satoru Iwata Michael Kwan November 8, 2012 The Nintendo Wii U is scheduled to launch on November 18, but we’ve already got the first official unboxing video for Nintendo’s next-generation video game console. I guess it helps when you have an insider like Nintendo President Satoru Iwata working for you, huh? Iwata-san gets all official with this “unboxing ceremony” by putting on some white gloves too, saying that they make him “feel like Mario.” You’ve probably already heard about the Wii U hardware specs, but easily the most notable “spec” is the new Wii U GamePad with its 6.2-inch touchscreen and NFC capabilities. The box for the $349.99 Deluxe Edition Wii U is heavier than the original Wii, but it still goes with that two layers of boxes configuration as before. Aside from the console itself are a set of console “legs” that function as a console stand, a GamePad charging cradle and power adapter, the main AC power brick, HDMI cable, a GamePad stand, and a copy of Nintendo Land.
