Meizu and Nokia Possibly Teaming Up For MX4 Expansion Dylan Duarte January 22, 2015 Are you familiar with Meizu? There’s a good chance that you’re not and they’re well aware of that. Despite being one of the top ten smartphone manufacturers in China, they have pretty much zero presence outside of their home market and that’s a big factor to consider when looking to expand. This is where Nokia comes in. Rumor has it that Meizu is looking to push their MX4 flagship phone out into other markets under a Nokia re-branding, which would give the phone a much better fighting chance than if it kept the Meizu name. The MX4, which is popular in China, will look largely the same but word is that Meizu will let Nokia choose their own colors, specifications, and software. Meizu is right to be cautious about expanding their brand, but it certainly can be done. If they pull it off they’ll join the ranks of Xiaomi, Huawei, and ZTE, other Chinese companies that were able to expand beyond their home markets and make a global splash. ZTE in particular has become the fourth largest smartphone manufacturer in the world and the second most popular in American prepaid phones. via Mobile Burn Share This With The World!
