Leaked iPad Pro Prototype Pictures Show Extra Port

Apple’s iPad Pro isn’t scheduled for release until this fall, but leaked images of a supposed prototype have revealed a nifty little physical addition: the existence of a USB-C or Lightning port on the left side of the tablet. That may not sound like a big deal, but the implications are relatively exciting.

The existence of such a port could mean that the iPad Pro will support accessories like a keyboard or a mouse, something that would go a long way towards giving it more laptop-like functionality. It could also just be a secondary charging port, which is less exciting but would still come in handy.

Then again, these images could be bogus. Even if they are the real deal, a lot can change between whenever these photos were taken and the release window for the iPad Pro. The rest of the button layout is pretty similar to that of the iPad Air and iPad mini models. The iPad Pro is also rumored to use an A8X processor, 2GB RAM, and a 12-inch+ HD display. Check out the gallery below to see all of the pictures.
