On the heels of their HyperX T1 DDR3 Triple Channel Kit announcement, Kingston announces some high performance memory for your notebook. Built for machines based on INTEL’s ‘Huron River’ mobile chipset, these new 1600MHz modules should max out your system nicely in either 2x2GBs for a total of 4GBs or 2x4GBs for a total of 8GBs of Dual Channel SO-DIMM goodness. The kits are CL9 so probably a 9-9-9-27 timing arrangement with a 1T or 2T command rate.

While this kit is built for a notebook setup, many new mini-ITX boards are coming equipped with SO-DIMM slots instead of the full sized DDR3 slots making these kits a great choice for those systems as well. Plus they only require 1.5Volts to run vs the 1.65Volts that full sized desktop kits require.

The best part I think is the price. At only $67 US for the 4GB kit or $122 US for the 8GB kit, it’s quite an affordable upgrade. Not to mention, these kits have a cool blue heatspreader that sets them apart from all the ‘nude’ kits out in the market. I guess it’s something that’ll just make you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside seeing as most notebook users don’t go flashing their memory modules with acrylic ‘memory door’ panels.
