Google Glass Getting Update with Video Player, Improved Voice Controls, More

Google Glass is getting another update, this one bigger than most, as it adds new and improved features. In addition to a video player, Glass now has improved voice control, better SMS support, voice-activated updates for Path and Evernote, hashtags, and more Google Now cards. And this is all before Google Glass even officially goes on sale to the public.

The controls for the new video player are simple: tap to pause and play, and swipe to rewind or move forward. The updates for Path and Evernote can be accessed by saying either “Okay Glass, post an update” or “Okay Glass, take a note,” respectively. Voice control in general works better and you no longer have to wait for a cue to start speaking.

The new cards give you a new method to adjust volume, remind you about hotel and restaurant reservations, tell you movie times, and report emergency alerts.

The XE8 update will become available over the new few days.
