Google Giving Away Paid Android Apps for Free Michael Kwan March 27, 2017 News It’s hard to resist the alluring price of free-ninety-nine, wouldn’t you say? The good people at Google are starting a new promo wherein you can get one of the paid Android apps for free each and every week. Does this sound familiar? It should. If you’re one of the people who, for some reason or another, prefers to get your mobile apps through the Amazon Appstore for Android instead of through the regular old Google Play Store, then this paradigm is old hat for you. Amazon has been giving away paid Android apps for free for quite a while… mostly as a strategy of getting people to use that app store instead of the “official” one. In any case, you’ll now find a new section in the Google Play Store appropriately called the Free App of the Week. This week, you can get Card Wars – Adventure Time, a game based on the cartoon, for free. It usually sells for $2.99 US ($3.99 Canadian). There’s no specific indication as to when Google will stop offering free apps, so we’ll just have to watch this week by week. I wonder what they’ll give away next. Share This With The World!
