Get $600 When You Trade Your iPhone for a BlackBerry Passport Michael Kwan November 25, 2014 Have you been looking for a way to dump your crappy old iPhone and “upgrade” to a shiny new black monolith of a BlackBerry Passport? It looks like the folks in Waterloo have concocted a deal just in time for the holidays where they will provide you with up to $600 in cold hard cash if you let them have your iPhone. The so-called BlackBerry Trade Up program is being powered by the people at Clover Wireless and they’ll give you up to $400 for your used iPhone. Then, BlackBerry will “top up” that value with an additional $200, bringing your grand total to $600. You will need to have purchased a BlackBerry Passport “from select online retailers” (shopblackberry.com or amazon.com) starting on December 1, so you’ll have to wait until next week to get this deal. Maybe you can stack it with a Black Friday promotion. Not surprisingly, the highest trade-in value is for the iPhone 6 (up to $400, plus the $200 top-up). They will take something as old as the iPhone 4S for up to $100 in trade-in value, plus the $200 top-up for a total of $300. The values range accordingly for the iPhone 5, 5C and 5S. You should note that these are “up to” values, as they depend on “storage size and carrier.” Strangely, the iPhone 6 Plus is not mentioned in the table of values. Head over to the official BlackBerry Trade Up program page to get more details and to sign up for that BlackBerry money. Depending on how you play your cards, you could net a new BlackBerry Passport and a little extra holiday spending money for your trouble. I spotted the black unlocked model for $499 on Amazon.
