What to Expect from the 2018 iPad Pro Michael Kwan October 18, 2018 News The new iPhone XS and iPhone XR aren’t the only new things coming out of Cupertino. We knew it was due for an update before year’s end and now we’ve got a date for when Apple will reveal the 2018 iPad pro to the world. There’s a special Apple event scheduled for October 30 with the tagline “There’s more in the making.” While Apple doesn’t explicitly say that this event will focus on the 2018 iPad Pro, that’s a pretty safe assumption at this point. We’re also hearing that they’ll probably show off a new MacBook, as well as possible updates to other Macs in the lineup. The rumor mill has been churning hard about the 2018 iPad Pro for months now. If the rumors and leaks are to be believed, just as they were for the Pixel 3, then we can probably expect both 11-inch and a 12.9-inch versions of the new high end tablet. To align with the iPhone family, the new iPad will likely be losing the home button and Touch ID in favor of thinner bezels and Face ID. Unlike the iPhone X, iPhone XS and iPhone XR, the updated iPad probably won’t have a notch. It’ll probably have USB-C port instead of a Lightning port, and the Smart Connector will move from the side to the bottom to accommodate the portrait-only Face ID. The Brooklyn event will likely also see a MacBook Air successor with slimmer bezels, a new Mac Mini, iOS 12.1 details, and maybe a new Mac Pro and/or iMac teaser too.
