BelayCords Take the Guesswork Out of USB Beth Snyder September 16, 2014 Please tell me I’m not the only one. I have never, and I do mean never, inserted a USB plug the right way on the first try. Not once. Not even when I look at it first, because invariably the port is the opposite way of how I think it is. I think that’s the real reason why I’m such a fan of goofy-shaped flash drives: It’s harder to mess up which way they go. BelayCords is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, and obviously it’s not just me who has that problem. With about six weeks left in their campaign they have already achieved approximately 25x their goal. What are BelayCords? Reversible USB cords, compatible with Android or iPhone. If you use a BelayCord, you no longer have to care which way you’ve tried to insert the USB plug, it’ll just go. I am astonished, and in a very good way. If the only thing BelayCords offered was a reversible USB plug, they’d be worth it. But they also come with a lifetime guarantee, so on the off chance something happens to your cord you just have to send it back for a replacement. The cord has a heavy nylon wrap, which should make it virtually impervious to being wrapped repeatedly, tossed in your bag, bent, chewed on, and possibly even caught in your desk drawer. As I said, they have more than reached their funding goal already, so this one is definitely going to become reality. They’re predicting shipping in November of this year, and a pledge of at least $30.00 US will get you a BelayCords for either Lightning, 30-pin, or Micro USB (you’ll specify which along with what colour when the project is complete). Since they’ve blown past their original funding goals there are now stretch goals achieved, including choice of colour, optional extra length, and an upgrade to anodized cables. The more pledges they receive, the more stretch goals will be unlocked. Source: Red Ferret Share This With The World!
