Bad Poetry Day Beth Snyder August 18, 2011 There is really good poetry in the world, and there is really bad poetry. I have become convinced as an adult that 99% of what we were forced to read, interpret, and copy in school was crap. Which means that today is the perfect day to remember and honour those high school poems! Want to have some fun? Write a haiku…but with a twist. Don’t use words that go together, just use words that follow the structure guidelines. Then post them as your Facebook status, and when people don’t get it, tell them you’re just celebrating poetry because it’s a holiday. Don’t tell them until tomorrow that it’s bad poetry day. Yeah, I haven’t slept much. You’ll have that.
