Apartment Laundry Made Easy With the Eco Pod Beth Snyder March 4, 2011 You know how it goes. Your apartment is only so big and you only have room for so much stuff. Thus buying a washer and dryer gets pretty far down the list. But you still have to have clean clothes, and often the laundromat is either closed or too busy or simply not conveniently located. I can think of about a thousand times I could have used one of these when I was still renting, and even now that I live in a house with a washer and dryer, I can definitely see a use for it. Not only does it take up little space, but it’s far more environmentally friendly than a full-sized washer and dryer. When you have clothes that need washing, you simply place them in one of the three pods that are included. When the pod is full, hook it to the wall-mount machine, where it functions like a washing drum. It uses steam for washing and superheated steam for drying, leaving your clothes clean and fresh smelling without using soap. This means the leftover “gray” water can be used for watering house plants to no ill effect. It’s basically a win all the way around: it doesn’t take up much room, it uses less water than a traditional washer, you don’t need a dryer, and the leftover water can be reused. Unfortunately, this hasn’t hit the market yet, but you can bet I’ll be watching for when it does. Source: Ubergizmo Share This With The World!
