Everyone loves Amazon. The online megastore has been the online shopping destination for years and with the advent of Amazon Prime and its two-day shipping, the Amazon mania has only gripped us harder. Unfortunately, all of that devotion and loyalty comes at a price. They're starting to wield the power we've given them in unpleasant ways.

Apparently the Apple TV and Chromecast don't offer easy access to Amazon Prime Video and Amazon has decided that that's reason enough to no longer sell the two products. And it's not just Amazon themselves who are no longer offering it. According to an email they sent out, marketplace sellers won't be able to sell the products after October 29th, either.

The timing of this announcement is a bummer considering that the new Chromecast is something to get excited about. It's a smart business decision, of course. Amazon has zero obligation to support their competitors, which is clearly how they view Apple TV and Chromecast if they're going to lead people to use Netflix and Hulu over Amazon Prime. We've created a monster. A monster with low prices and fast shipping, but a monster no less.
