Adult Content Could Account for 30 Percent of Internet Traffic Dylan Duarte April 25, 2012 Extras It’s no secret that the internet is an excellent source of pornography. It’s been the subject of countless jokes over the years. But, like a lot of clichés, it comes from a place of truth. A recent study by ExtremeTech reports that as much as 30 percent of internet traffic comes from adult websites. For comparison, the most popular adult site on the internet sees 4.4 billion page views per month, while popular social news website Reddit sees only 2.8 billion page views. While this figure is simply an estimate, this finding isn’t all that surprising. Still, it’s pretty amazing that practically a third of all internet traffic is dedicated to pornography. I’m sure non-porn video streaming sites rank up there too, such as Netflix and Hulu, as well as bit-torrent usage. Then again, a lot of bit-torrent users are probably using their torrent clients to download pornography too. There’s just no escaping it. via The Verge Share This With The World!
