It might be my age, but almost every time someone does something that bends the rules a bit, I’ll say “well, that’s not according to Hoyle.” For those of you who don’t know, Hoyle is the company that not only makes playing cards, but pretty much is the depository for the rules of every possible game you can play with them. What’s fun for me today in particular is that for practically the first time in my life I followed a recipe exactly as written for dinner. Who knew I was celebrating an obscure holiday?
