It occurs to me that it’s not really surprising the rest of the world views the US as a country full of overweight, lazy, gluttonous people. The fact that so many of the obscure holidays I find to use as post titles revolve around food should have been my first clue. This one is dedicated to those of you, and you know who you are, who thoroughly enjoy eating leftovers while standing over the kitchen sink. I’m not talking about the standards like watermelon or a particularly juicy peach, but stuff like pie. Leftovers. A towering Dagwood-type sandwich made of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and cranberry relish. For the rest of the world…disgusting, isn’t it? But don’t knock it ’til you try it.
