MEGATech Videos: Unboxing the WD My Cloud Personal Cloud Storage Device Michael Kwan October 2, 2013 MEGATech Videos You may have already seen our special report and video from New York where Western Digital officially announced its new My Cloud family of personal cloud storage solutions. If you haven’t seen the video yet, I encourage you to check it out. It goes over all of the key features and specs, as well as how it will help to solve the growing problem of having our files and media content scattered across multiple devices and multiple services. As I mention in that other post, the WD My Cloud is available for purchase as of today in 2TB and 3TB flavors from your retailer or e-tailer of choice, but we had the opportunity to have some special hands-on time with it while visiting with Western Digital in New York. Embedded below is one of the first unboxing videos for the My Cloud, giving you an idea of what you can expect when you spend your precious money on this personal cloud solution. Because it’s not your typical external hard drive, the My Cloud does not connect directly to your computer via a USB cable. Instead, you use the Gigabit Ethernet port (with the included network cable) to connect it to your home or office router. Also included in the box are the power adapter and a single sheet of basic setup instructions. It really should be that easy. The unboxing video also gives an overview of the fanless design and what-have-you. Check it out below. Share This With The World!
