Despite everything weird that has happened in the world and everything I’ve seen on the Internet, I’m grateful that there are still things out there that I can find so deliciously weird. For example, this 100% factual sentence that I’m about to type: in an effort to be more transparent with the American people, the office of the United States Director of National Intelligence has created a Tumblr page with which to share unclassified information regarding NSA programs.

Did you get all that? The fallout from Edward Snowden leaking details about PRISM has had multiple effects on both the national and global landscape and mounting distrust in the American government is leading to things like IC On the Record, the aforementioned Tumblr account created at the request of President Obama.

While time will tell how much information is shared with the public and it will always be up for debate how factual that information is, this is definitely a good idea and a step in the right direction towards restoring faith in the United States Government. Granted, that’s one step in a very long, long journey.
