The News: Tuesday, June 11 Edition Beth Snyder June 11, 2013 I had originally written a completely different intro, but then late last night I got a phone call that changed my perspective on everything. One of my theatrical mentors, who also served as a substitute dad, who taught me more than I can even begin to explain about lighting, and life, and culture, and how to be (and not be) a fabulous person, has an extremely advanced, extremely virulent form of cancer. Yesterday they took him off oxygen, and gave him 24-48 hours. My heart is breaking. There will be a huge hole left in the world. And it’s just not fair. So…now I’m going to work because it’s what I have to do, but my heart and soul are in the hospital with him. It’s OK to let go…we’ll all miss you, but you need to think about you instead of us for a change.
