The News: Touristy Stuff Edition Beth Snyder May 18, 2012 Most people, upon spending a week in Tahoe, are here for tourist-type reasons. In summer, it’s boating and fishing and hiking. In winter, it’s skiing and snowboarding. Either way, the casinos definitely play a big part. Me, I come here because it’s like my second home. The only reason I go near a casino is if I have to take the shuttle either to or from the airport in Reno. We have fairly well established that I hate snow (and in fact will never set foot here in winter if it can at all be avoided). I don’t so much go for boating or fishing or hiking, although I do enjoy taking walks along the lake. Nope, I come here and hang out with my friend in her back yard 90% of the time. But today is different. Today we are going to all the places tourists normally frequent, because I need to find something for my mom for mother’s day. It should be an adventure.
