Tetris Alarm Clock May Make You Hate the Game Beth Snyder July 12, 2011 It’s no secret that I am decidedly not a morning person. Many of you are the same, so you’re probably also continuously searching for the perfect alarm clock to get you out of bed for work with the least amount of trauma. This ain’t it. It’ll definitely get you up, but if you’re prone to high blood pressure you may want to consider another option. On the other hand, if you love Tetris, then maybe this one’s for you. It is exactly what you think. Once you’ve used up your preset number of “snoozes”, the game kicks in. You are then required to play until you clear not one, not two, but four lines before the alarm will shut off. Think that sounds easy? Remember…you’ve just been awakened from a deep sleep. Odds are good you can’t really see yet even if you don’t normally wear glasses. The alarm is going off the entire time you’re trying to clear those simple four lines. Yeah, I knew you’d get the picture. Not only do you have to play, you have to turn the clock sideways to do so. Not that big a deal in the age of smartphones that rotate to do everything, but still another factor to consider. Each level of the game is randomly generated, so it’s a crap shoot what you’re going to get. You can customize any number of things on this clock, from how bright the backlight is to how many times you’ll allow yourself to hit the snooze button. You can also choose from four game modes of Tetris, and set the alarm time down to the hundredths of a second. If this sounds like the alarm clock for you…you’ll have to build your own, sorry.
