Despite selling like compact, technological hotcakes that you wear on your wrist, the first generation Apple Watch actually got a decent amount of flak for not having its own cellular connectivity, something that companies like Samsung and LG had been offering in their own smartwatches. This exclusion made the Apple Watch feel less like its own device and more like a glorified iPhone accessory.

While we don’t know exactly when the second generation of Apple’s wearable will hit the market, there have been reports that it will have cellular connectivity, and a faster processor to boot.

Apple is known for unapologetically chasing their vision, the desires of the masses be damned. While most companies look to market research to produce a product that will supply what consumers demand, Apple does the things the other way around, producing a product and then convincing everybody that they want it. That’s how Apple does business, and they’re damn good at. Even as a pretty hardcore Android user, it’s hard to deny the siren call of Apple’s sleek line of products. Still, everyone has to listen to the market at some point, and it’s good to hear that the Apple Watch 2 may be everything people want and then some.
