LG Stepping Back From Tablet Market Dylan Duarte June 19, 2012 When Microsoft announced their new Surface Tablet yesterday, a lot of people wondered what sort of effect it would have on the market. Are we seeing those effects already? LG, who is no stranger to tablet PCs, is stepping away from that particular market to focus on smartphones. Responding to the Surface Tablet announcement, LG remarked that Surface isn’t competing with what they’re focusing on at the moment. But did that decision to focus on smartphones come before or after the announcement? Either way, it’s a smart move on their part. LG hasn’t had a lot of success in the tablet market with Apple, Samsung, and ASUS already taking up a lot of space. Throwing Microsoft into that mix isn’t going to make things any easier. If they couldn’t grab a good market share before, their chances are even slimmer now. via Slash Gear Share This With The World!
