Kazam Stock Android Smartphones with Free Screen Repair Michael Kwan November 6, 2013 If you want to have the “pure” and vanilla Google Android experience on your smartphone, most people will tell you that the new Google Nexus 5 is the way to go. For the most part, they’re right, but you do have some other options. There are Play Editions of the HTC One and Galaxy S4, for example, but they can be quite pricy. For a more affordable way to get the pure Android experience right out of the box, you might turn to a little known company called Kazam, based out of the UK. It’s not a name that you’d likely recognize, but the people behind Kazam are actually ex-executives from HTC. They know a thing or two about Android smartphones. The first line of smartphones from Kazam will include no fewer than seven different models, all of which will boast a vanilla build of Android. That could be compelling on its own, but there’s another reason why you may be interested in Kazam: all of their phones will come with a one-year warranty wherein they will replace your broken screen for free. Drop the phone or smash it up against the corner of your desk? No problem. The less than great news, though, is that the specs on these Kazam smartphones won’t be as high-end as some of you may hope. The flagship Thunder phone will have just a 1.3Ghz MediaTek quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The other phones in the lineup, like the lower-end Trooper devices, will be spec’d even lower. The screen resolution on the 4.5-incher, for example, is just 854 x 480. This is in an age where 1080p is the standard and 720p is regardless as the bare minimum. If they price them right, though, Kazam could carve out a nice little niche for themselves, even if they don’t quite reach mass appeal. There’s no word on availability yet, though, and they haven’t said anything about pricing either. Via Gizmodo Share This With The World!
