Janet Napolitano talks Cyberattacks in Farewell Address Dylan Duarte August 27, 2013 Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano is stepping down after four and a half years at her post. In her farewell address earlier today, she warned of the looming threat of cyberattacks, including a major one that will “at some point” damage the economy as well as the everyday lives of American citizens. Napolitano assured everyone that during her tenure, the department took steps to better equip itself against cyberattacks, but she insisted that more has to be done on the matter and in a timely fashion. She’s far from the only one in Washington talking about cyberattacks and I’m not just referring to the out-of-touch old people who’ve seen Live Free or Die Hard. A recent US intelligence report listed cyberattacks as the number one threat to the country. After the recent attacks on Bank of America, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal, it’s clear that cyber threats are something to watch for. via The Verge Share This With The World!
