iPhone 6c Confirmed via Sony’s Chinese Supply Chain? Michael Kwan May 4, 2015 News Many an Apple enthusiast has demonstrated a preference for the smaller form factor of the last-generation iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s, turned off by the comparatively unwieldy iPhone 6 and the even more gargantuan iPhone 6 Plus. As we look ahead at what this year’s family of iPhone devices will bring, we’re seeing a little more confirmation for the smaller iPhone 6c. The assumption here is that the iPhone 6c could follow in the footsteps of the colorful iPhone 5c, borrowing components from an older generation and getting slapped together in a more affordable package. The rumored 4-inch iPhone may already be in the works, as has been indicated by the supply chain in China. More specifically, it’s being said that Apple has placed a substantial order for Sony’s camera modules for the purpose of putting them in the upcoming iPhone 6c. Apparently, this has put extra pressure on the Android device manufacturers in China, as the Sony supply chain can only keep up with 50% of their camera module orders. The rest are being reserved for the iPhone 6c, which is rumored for a September release. That should be the same time that we see an iPhone 6s (success?) and an iPhone 6s Plus. Of course, a lot can change between now and the fall. While iPhone 6c can sound “sexy” in English, it could sound like consuming canine excrement in Cantonese. I’m sure that’ll help with demand in Hong Kong, right? Via GSM Dome Share This With The World!
