Boy. Yesterday I got a form from my insurance company that I must fill out and return within 14 days or they will deny my claim. They would love for my surgery to be workers’ comp. related so they don’t have to pay. I filled it out and mailed it back this morning…including the form I received from workers’ comp. stating my claim is denied, and the denial was upheld on appeal. I get that they want to save money, but for what I’m paying in premiums (even subsidized!) they could’ve easily paid for the entire thing without a deductible eight times over by now. It would have almost been cheaper to get the surgery done before I had insurance, now that I see how cheap it really was. Only about $1500.00.
