Spanish smartphone manufacturer Geeksphone announced that they’ll be teaming up with Mozilla to release smartphones loaded with the Firefox OS. The phones are scheduled for a February release, but preview handsets are available to help developers prepare for the new operating system. The preview devices, Keon and the Peak, aren’t the exact same phones that consumer will be getting their hands on, but they’re very similar. The Keon features a 3.5-inch HVGA screen, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor, 3-megapixel camera, 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM, a microSD slot and a 1,580mAh battery. The Peak is the better of the two, featuring a 4.3-inch qHD IPS display, 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon, S4 processor, 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM, and a microSD slot and 1,800mAh battery. The Firefox OS hasn’t even been officially announced for U.S. release, but it’s already got support from Sprint as well as some smaller carriers. via IntoMobile Share This With The World!
