If you would rather celebrate this one thinking it’s about those pretty flowers, go right ahead. But what it’s really for is to remind us not to forget people in our lives who may have slipped to the side without our noticing. You know it happens, where there is someone in your life you truly care about, but for a wide variety of reasons you get busy, and then all of a sudden you realize it’s six months or more since you’ve talked to them. Today is the day to reach out to them, in case they still want to have something to do with you. Call, email, look them on up Facebook or Google+…whatever. Just make the effort.
