The News: Friday, December 28 Edition

And so we enter the last weekend of the year. Normally, this would be a time for reflection, for making resolutions we fully intend to keep but know we will break before Valentine’s Day, for looking back over the last year and either celebrating the good or saying good riddance to the bad. I don’t do that. My weekend is pretty darn full, working hockey games tonight, Saturday and Monday, having Christmas at my dad’s house Sunday, and doing physical therapy today and Monday. My entire concentration is going to be on getting through the weekend with my sanity intact and my head above water. This year, I know going in that while it’s always been a remote possibility, this is very probably the last Christmas my dad will be around for. My head is a little screwed up about that.
