A Mouse You Can Wear On Your Finger

A Mouse You Can Wear On Your Finger

Spotted at COMPUTEX 2007 in Taipei, this Ring Finger Mouse was hiding in the back corner of the convention center. In fact, the booth was so far back in the boonies, we didn’t think we’d find anything interesting there at all. The product is currently still in prototype sample form, but we were able to snag a shot when no one was looking.

A Mouse You Can Wear On Your Finger

The mouse is placed on your finger closest to your thumb. You rotate the mouse over so that your thumb has access to the trackstick and the mouse buttons. It runs off a USB port and combines a retractable cable dongle to keep things tidy when you put it away. You have a right click, left click, and another button that looks like it helps center the cursor in the middle of the screen.

The product is currently applying for FCC approval so whenever that gets finished up, you should see it on the shelves.

It looks sorta clunky, but its a good find nonetheless. Thanks for this. Even though I may not like it now, I could be wearing something similar to that a couple of years from now…. who knows

The way humans interface with computers right now is awkward at best so I’m happy to see some innovation. What would be really great is if this mouse would sense a particular motion like a swift upward movement and count that as a click. Then mousing could be done without removing the fingers from the home row on a QWERTY keyboard.

Thanks for sharing this info! -Matt

Looks a bit weird to me, I thought it was going to be a really tiny one that fits on the end of my finger and not use my thumb.

Too bad they dont have the U.S. patent rights to it, oh yah I do…. stay tuned folks, we are working on an optical sensor version. much better than this mini trackball one. Still I like the positive feedback, lets me know we are moving in the right direction with our prototype.
