Turns out the birthday girl is sick, so the party was cancelled. In a way, I’m disappointed, but for the most part it really does not break my heart to stay home on a rare Friday night off rather than going to a country bar. I briefly considered going somewhere else anyway since I was planning on it, but then it occurred to me that I’m working the rest of the weekend, so I’m going to stay home and soak in the tub.
