After two days of deliberation, the jury in the Apple vs. Samsung patent trial has reached a verdict and it’s the not one Samsung was hoping for. The jury has found Samsung guilty of several patent violations and the South Korean-based company must pay Apple $1,051,855,000 in damages. Yes, that’s slightly over one billion dollars.

The jury was given the difficult job of reviewing each patent, deciding whether or not there was an infringement and, if so, then assigning a dollar amount to the damages. There were over 700 patent-specific questions to comb through.

Among some of the individual damgages are $57 million for the Samsung Prevail, $44 million for the Infused 4G, and $53 million for the Mesmerize. Apple certainly didn’t win everything, but they won enough to consider this a major victory for themselves and a major loss for Samsung.
