The Nintendo 3DS didn’t really get the kind of traction that Nintendo had hoped. Maybe it’s because of that initial price point. Maybe it was the lack of a killer title. Maybe it was the miserable battery life.
The price has been addressed and there are at least a few titles worth getting now. Addressing that third point are the Nyko PowerPak+ and the Hyperkin PowerPlus. These are battery upgrade kits for the Nintendo 3DS that are said to give you double the playing time of the regular battery. I unboxed the two and will be providing a proper shootout/review in the near future.
With Super Mario 3D Land already out and Mario Kart 7 drifting right around the corner, now is as good a time as any to invest in extending your portable gaming session on the 3DS. Video featuring the unboxing of both battery packs is after the jump.
