Xiaomi Not Expanding to Europe, North America for a Few Years Dylan Duarte January 19, 2015 Folks over in India and Asia have been enjoying Xiaomi products for a while now. However, if you’re located in North America or Europe, and you’ve been wanting to get your hands on some Xiaomi goodness, you’re going to be waiting a while. Despite recent talks that the brand was considering a North America expansion, it doesn’t look like that’s happening. Their two newest phones are sticking to their usual markets. According to Xiaomi Vice President of International Hugo Barra, the company does have “insane global ambitions,” but due to market saturation, it will be at least a few years before their products are available in Europe or North America. Xiaomi is still expanding, though, with plans to work their way into Brazil, Russia, Turkey, and Mexico, as well further expansion in India. Plus, they’ve invested in Misfit, which is the California-based manufacturer of the popular Shine wearable activity tracker.
