If you’ve ever played any game from the Worms series by Team17 on any platform and you want to re-enter the heat of the battle, then I’ve got some great news. If you’re rocking an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, you can go ahead and nab Worms 3 for free this week. It’s Apple’s free app of the week! Regularly selling for $4.99, Worms3 is hardly a “new” game anymore, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t play it. It’s still a heck of a lot of fun using all of those grenades, exploding sheep and sticks of dynamite against your turn-based team of foes. One of the unique features in Worms3 is the game-changing environment by way of a card system. The worms themselves can get upgraded through an RPG-style class system too. And yes, Worms3 for iPhone supports asynchronous online multiplayer. As can be expected, Worms3 can be downloaded via the iTunes App Store. It’s free this week, but there are optional in-app purchases that cost up to $11.99. If you’re looking for another free game with a familiar game mechanic, you can nab Angry Birds 2 for free instead.
