WinChip Shows Off Artistic RAM at Computex James White June 1, 2011 I have seen a large variety of RAM head spreaders over the years. Often I find companies adding tall head spreaders just for style, but this leads to the RAM getting in the way of large CPU coolers. WinChip has taken it one step too far. First up from WinChip are a series of RAM sticks with heat spreaders with very nice murals. The very beautiful artwork is both more expensive to create and wasted in an environment were you will never see it. Second up we have the, now nearly 2 years old, Avatar the Game themed RAM. I believe the lettering above Avatar the Game is Mandarin, so this may be a China only product. Finally we have RAM design to ensure you will never use an aftermarket CPU cooler. The initial part of the heat spreader is already double the standard size; but they take it one step further with a bolted on third level to the RAM. I guess WinChip wanted to win the record for the tallest RAM heat spreaders ever. Pictures provided by: TechPowerUp! Share This With The World!
