Take a second to look up from Zelda, Mario Kart, or whatever else you’re playing on that thing, because there’s a new Nintendo Switch system update that just rolled out with a bunch of new features and bug fixes. Thankfully, there’s almost nothing you need to do in order get update version 3.0.0 on your console.

The timing couldn’t be better. I got a Nintendo Switch for Father’s Day and I even vlogged about it with my two-year-old. Even though I’ve only had the console for about a week, I’m already annoyed by a few things like the inability to charge the Joy-cons without attaching them to the main unit or buying some extra accessory. And I’m not looking forward to when I inevitably lose one of the Joy-cons too, perhaps no thanks to having a toddler in the house.

As it turns out, though, the new system update will at least address one of those concerns. Can’t find your controllers? Go into the Controllers menu from the Switch’s home screen and you’ll find a new option for Find Controllers. When you do, you’ll be able to get paired controllers (within communication range) to vibrate on command. That’s something!

Another thing I noticed is that my TV would automatically switch to the Switch input when I had the tablet in the dock in sleep mode. Nintendo Switch System Update version 3.0.0 fixes that too. You can also add friends from your old 3DS or Wii U friends lists now, get notifications when your friends come online, search for game-specific news and register for a channel, and change the user icon order from the home menu.

To get the newest system update, just make sure your Switch is online. It’ll download it automatically and then you’ll need to restart your console. That’s it. Peep the official changelog for the full list of “improvements” included in version 3.0.0.
