Starting this weekend, you won’t need to ask a buddy if he’s got an invitation for you, because the OnePlus 2 is going invite-free. This isn’t just a one day deal like how OnePlus has done in the past. In a an official company blog post, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei announced that starting at midnight on December 5, the OnePlus 2 will be invite-free forever. If you want to make sure you get the OnePlus 2 in time for Christmas, you’ll need to place your order before December 7. But that’s not the only news. While it didn’t quite ganer over a million pre-orders like its OnePlus 2 cousin, the OnePlus X is arguably one of the best values in a budget-friendly smartphone today (assuming you don’t need LTE in the USA). To further celebrate the company’s second anniversary later this month, OnePlus will also be offering the OnePlus X invite-free for the period of December 5 to December 7. Yes, so you can get that for Christmas too. During that same period, OnePlus will also be discounting several other items in its inventory, including 50% off StyleSwap covers for the OnePlus 2, 90% off select OnePlus One accessories, and 10% off all other accessories.
