Most of the time, I can choose something other than candy, or if there isn’t another choice, then I can go without. But not when it comes to truffles. I don’t know what it is about them, but even the cheap ones you can buy at the dollar store pretty much leap into my mouth and insist I eat them. Might have something to do with when Godiva and Ghirardelli chocolates were hard to come by…my favourite present to give or receive was a box of assorted truffles from one or the other of them. They came packed in dry ice, overnight shipping only, and they were absolutely to DIE for. Now they’re only as far away as the nearest shopping mall, but I still can’t resist them.
