Well, I finally gave in and made my appointment to start physical therapy on Monday. I have discovered that if I take a codeine pill I can sort-of limp on my foot without needing crutches for about two hours, but the rest of the time I can barely stand to even balance on it. And since I don’t want to live on codeine indefinitely, I figured what the heck. Apparently they have this cool machine (available in a take-home model which my insurance appears to cover) that’s kinda like electro-shock for your feet. Or something. Anyway, they’ll be using it on me, because it’s supposed to confuse your nerves so you don’t feel as much pain, which will make this whole learning how to walk thing a whole heck of a lot easier.
