Today is supposed to be the only day for the foreseeable future that is not raining or snowing, so I’m going to take advantage of that and make the filling for my cake. This year I’m doing a pecan pie cake, and as any good Southern cook will tell you, you cannot make pecan pie filling when it’s raining. I don’t know why, I just know it’s got something to do with humidity or barometric pressure or something, because if it’s raining the filling will always be runny no matter what you do. So that’s my project for today. Tomorrow I make cake.
