Today is the day I’ve been looking forward to for three weeks! My niece lives about an hour west of me, in a town with what is hands-down the best farmer’s market I’ve been to in the area. We’re heading there in a few minutes to stock up on the usual vegetables (asparagus is in season, among other things), but also some amazing Amish baked goods, duck eggs, jerky, local-made honey and fruit preserves, and hopefully some granola. And while we’re there, we intend to get some coffee and pastries for breakfast, since we’re leaving the kids home with her husband. I am entirely too excited about this…and my kitchen is going to be producing some amazing food this week.
