The song by Gordon Lightfoot came out the next year, and to this day brings tears to my eyes. Remembering those lost on this tragic day and on all others, and saluting those who still work the ore ships on the Great Lakes at great risk to themselves. May the seas be kind, may your loved ones have an easy time waiting for you to come home to them, and may you never be forgotten.
