Syria Goes Completely Offline Dylan Duarte May 7, 2013 Extras Did you know that an entire nation can just go completely offline? I live in the U.S., Michael Kwan and Stephen Fung both live in Canada, and it’s entirely possibly that we all take our constant, speedy Internet access for granted. The entire country of Syria has gone offline, again; as in, it’s happened before. The outage began today at 12:00 PM PT and still hasn’t been resolved as of the time of this writing. What caused the outage is unknown, but the Syrian government is supposedly a likely culprit. What can we do? Hug your Internet and tell you how much you love it. In all seriousness, Syria is in the midst of a pretty nasty civil war, and my heart goes out to anyone who just lost contact with friends and family over there. Let’s hope this gets rectified quickly. via Engadget Share This With The World!
