It’s been a while since I’ve done an alliteration title, hasn’t it? But that’s how it is here right now. Apparently I have too many assets to get financial assistance with my hospital bill. Which leaves me with two options…wipe out my retirement account (and pay early withdrawal penalties and income tax) to pay some of the bill, then end up filing bankruptcy because I still won’t be able to make the payments; and leaving my retirement account alone, then just filing bankruptcy because I can’t afford to make the payments (the best offer they have for me is almost $2,000.00 per month). Either way, it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to get the surgery I need, so that’ll be a fun conversation with the surgeon on Tuesday.
